Criw Cymraeg

Within our school we have developed a 'Criw Cymraeg'

Our Criw Cymraeg have a very important job. It is their job to promote incidental Welsh and a Welsh ethos in our school. Siaradwch Cymraeg! Mae Cymraeg yn Cwl! Mae Cymraeg yn wych!

Our Criw Cymraeg is made up of some of our Year 2 pupils Blwyddyn 2. We meet once every half term and decide on a Phrase of the fortnight every 2 weeks.

'Ymadrodd y wythnos/penwythnos.'

Phrase of the week/fortnight.

They help to teach these phrases in the weekly Welsh assembly. They display posters around the school and help to set challenges and competitions for the pupils to enter.

Each week we hold a Welsh assembly. During this the Criw help with the singing and actions. They then decide on the 'Canwr Gwych' (Super Singer) and they are awarded a 'Tocyn Canwr Gwych' to go towards their teams house points. The Criw help the assembly by leading the Welsh prayer and support good listening to stories and poems. We also learn lots of Welsh songs and hymns.
